Overview

Dr. Beáta Gosztola is specialised in medicinal and aromatic plants, with particular regard to species containing essential oils. Her research interests include the study of morphological and chemical variability of wild-growing and cultivated medicinal plant species as well as the optimisation of associated gene bank conservation strategies. In her research profile, she also focuses on the development of cultivation technologies (e.g. irrigation, nutrient supply, harvest, post-harvest technologies) of different medicinal plant species and investigation of their impacts on the yield and quality of MAPs. She also deals with genetic improvement of plants (breeding), currently her researched species are chamomile, lovage, French tarragon, Cretan oregano, Moldavian dragonhead and sage species. Further skills: GC-MS, FID instrumental analyses.

EOHUB project

The European Hub on New Challenges in the Field of Essential Oils”, EOHUB (600873-EPP-1-2018-1ES-EPPKA2-KA), co-funded by the ERASMUS + Programme of the European Union under Knowledge Alliance call, will contribute to achieve smart, sustainable and inclusive growth, through stimulating entrepreneurship and innovation in the field of EOs, fitting within the EU 2020 strategy.

GROW - Development of woman self-help group in the area of multifunctional farming (ERASMUS + Programme)

The project GROW is dedicated to the development of multi-purpose farming as a possible working field and to social integration of disadvantaged target groups. The main task of the project is to support women living in the countryside, with acquiring additional knowledge and competences for self-development, better employment chances and integration into the job market.
