Overview

Dr. Gábor Péter's main fields of research interests include preservation and maintenance of microorganisms, systematics, biodiversity and ecology of yeasts and food microbiology. He investigates the yeast biodiversity of natural and man-made habitats, including foods with special emphasis on methylotrophic yeasts. He is involved in ex-situ conservation of microorganisms and in the isolation, characterization and description of novel yeast species. As an employee of the National Collection of Agricultural and Industrial Microorganisms (NCAIM), Institute of Food Science and Technology, Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences takes part in running the culture collection
